What is Body Acupuncture?
acupuncture involves the insertion of needles into the body to stimulate acupoints.  Acupoints are areas below the skin's surface where the circulation of the body's energy (Qi, or Chi) can be manipulated.  Acupoints are often located on meridians, or channels in the body through which energy flows.  The Meridian Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine is holistic - for the best therapeutic results it is important to restore circulation and balance energy not only in the local area where symptoms manifest, but also in the entire body, including the internal organs.  Stimulating appropriate acupoints on the arms, legs, or trunk "re-calibrates" the circulation of energy & blood throughout the entire body, resulting in an improved state of health and sense of well being.
